The project was officially launched in April 2023 and will be implemented by Ningbo Dadaobang Ecological Digital Technology Co., Ltd. The total investment of the project is 1.515 billion yuan, of which the World Bank has provided a loan of 150 million US dollars to Ningbo, exploring replicable and promotable "Ningbo experience" in plastic waste management as a breakthrough point. The project plans to build one smart management platform for household waste, two centers (smart management center for waste classification and electronic dismantling center for waste electrical appliances), three disposal plants (plastic waste centralized sorting and deep processing plant, large piece waste/construction decoration waste disposal plant, and municipal resource recycling base sewage treatment plant), six recyclable sorting centers, and 4000 intelligent recycling bins for full category waste classification will be installed at the same time. By 2027, the precise classification of domestic waste sources and the recycling of plastic waste will cover 1.2 million households in the central urban area of Ningbo; The precision classification rate at the source and the recycling rate of urban household waste have been significantly improved; The proportion of plastic recyclable materials to the total recyclable materials, and the proportion of plastic recyclable materials that can be disassembled from household appliances reaches 20%; The plastic entering the municipal kitchen waste treatment plant has been reduced by 50%. As of now, the project has completed the core technology research and development of the new source garbage classification full category intelligent recycling bin, achieved the final version of the entire machine to be finalized and implemented, built a digital management system for household waste and a government digital supervision (two network integration) platform, and landed more than 3300 garbage classification intelligent recycling bins. The site selection of the recyclable material sorting center in the six districts of the city has been completed, and the project construction is progressing smoothly.
